Nissan
X Trail Nitrous Express Hitman EFI |

1.
Our lucky car of the day to see big power is this Nismo X Trail.

2.
Since the X Trail still has the factory intake system, the rubber elbow
is removed to be drilled for the NX Piranha nozzle. The rule of thumb
is to mount the nozzle at least 6 inches away from the throttle body.

3.
We then run the nitrous supply line through a rubber grommet in the firewall.

4.
In this case, we ran the line through a wiring harness boot on the passenger
side.

5.
Keeping things neat, we remove the side steps and run the supply line
underneath.

6.
The other end will be connected to the 10 lbs bottle that we will mount
on the plastic tool cover.

7.
Here we see the hole drilled and the nozzle bung screwed into place.

8.
We wrap Teflon tape on the nozzle and screw it into the bung. The nozzle
end should be face toward the throttle body.

9.
The bolt that holds the brake master cylinder is perfect to hold our bracket
for the nitrous and fuel solenoids.

10.
A custom made bracket was fabricated and holes were drilled for the solenoids.

11.
Here's the big red fuel solenoid.

12.
And here's the nitrous solenoid.

13.
The consensus for the switches is that the master arm toggle switch will
be placed here beside the foglight switch.

14.
The go fast happy button will be placed here above the drink cooler, near
the steering wheel.

15.
Here we have the toggle switch wired up and placed in the empty plastic
clip.

16.
While it may seems like a rat's nest of wires, removing the panel is an
easy way to locate a ignition on power wire to supply the solenoids.

17.
Once the ignition on power is located, the appropriate taps are made and
the panel is screwed back into place.

18.
Here the happy go fast button is installed ready to be pressed.

19.
Both solenoids are now installed on the bracket, with the nitrous supply
line attached to the blue solenoid.

20.
A brass T fitting is used to supply the fuel to the red solenoid.

21.
Both sets of supply lines are attached and the outputs are also screwed
on to the nozzle.

22.
Here's the engine side install complete. 50hp nitrous and fuel jettings
are placed inside the Piranha nozzle.

23.
The bracket is bolted on the plastic tool cover to hold the bottle in
place.

24.
By placing the bottle off to one side, we still maintain the X Trail's
utility function while providing an instant and additional 50hp on tap
anytime.
