1.
The owner picked up the car 2nd hand from his uncle which had already
worn out shocks. No better time than now to upgrade to a set of Bilsteins.

The front shock is disassembled by removing the mounting bolts on the
wheel hub.
|

3.
Along with the three bolts that hold the top of the shock to the chassis.
|
|

4.
We then strap the shock to the spring compressor to take out the shock
hat and spring.
|

5.
You will need an allen wrench and a closed wrench to retighten the shock
hat once the shock is replaced.
|

6.
Installation is the reverse of removal.
|
|

7.
The rears are bit more difficult to take out due the shock bolts being
under the seat.
|

Here is the rear shock assembly.

9.
To get to the bolts, the entire seat has to be taken out.
|
|

10.
Here we see the top of the rea shock and the mounting bolts.
|

11.
Remove the bolts at the base of the shock to dislodge it.
|

12.
It goes into the spring compressor again to take out the stock shocks.
|

13.
Here is the completed Bilstein shock on the rear of the Civic.
