1998 Mercedes Benz E230 H&R springs

1. German cars deserve German made springs, and H&R has a long history of cooperation with Mercedes Benz.

2. First order of business is to remove the wheels and lift up the car.

3. Benzes are unique in that the shock and springs are mounted separately in the front and back.

4. The rear shock is first unbolted to loosen the suspension arm.

5. A little bit of muscle and the rear spring comes right off.

6. The H&R springs are then slipped in place.

7. To get the front spring out, the anti-roll bar has to be taken off.

8. The control arm also needs to be removed along with the lower shock bolts.

9. Even with all the components removed, we still need a spring compressor to get the spring out.

10. We also compress the H&R spring to make it fit.

11. The front spring is a perfect fit.

12. The result is a 1.5" drop on all four corners and stock Bnez ride comfort.
