Mitsubishi Lancer 1.6 |

1.
Our Lancer was already riding on 17" wheels when it rolled in, a
perfect candidate for lowering.

2.
Remove all the wheels to get to the suspension. Here's the front...

3.
...and here's the rear.

4.
The front shock tower is held in place with three bolts.

5.
To get to the rear shock tower bolts, peel back the plastic felt liner.

6.
Two bolts loosen the Macpherson strut.

7.
The shock easily slides off once all the bolts have been removed.

8.
The rear shocks are the same.

9.
Brand new shiny H&R lowering springs.

10.
Here's a side by side comparison of the stock and H&R rear springs.

11.
Our handy spring compressor is used to disassemble the springs from the
shock body.

12.
Here's the bare bones front shock.

13.
Assembly is reverse of removal.

14.
Once the shock hat has been tightened, slip the assembly back in into
its proper place.

15.
Same goes for the rear shocks.

16.
The unsightly gap has been eliminated. The Lancer now sits 1.5" lower
with the driver reporting no change in comfort.

17.
An overall better stance thanks to H&R Springs.
