1. At first glance, the stock intercooler on the
Focus TDCi looks huge. But once out of the
bumper, its actually not that huge having a very
thin cross section.
2. Our Type 2 intercooler is the same size as
Mitsubishi Evo's and has twice the volume of the
stock intercooler. Here we fashion some brackets
to hold it to the bumper support.
3. Two screws bolt the
intercooler in place.
4. The inlet and outlet pipings are fashioned.
The stock location is amazingly convenient.
5. Ideally we would redo the pipe that leads to
the throttle since the stock rubber hose tends
to expand under a lot of boost.
6. Still tucked away for that sleeper look
unless you peer directly straight at the grill.
This upgrade is good for an additional 10hp to
the wheels.
